Mother Teresa at Milwaukee’s Marquette University
In June 1981 Marquette University presented Mother Teresa with the Père Marquette Discovery Award, MU’s highest honor. As part of her visit to Milwaukee, the Nobel laureate honored Midland Video by sitting down with us to tape 5 half-hour television programs. Mother Teresa drew a big crowd to the remote production site but she wasn’t the only famous religious figure at the tapings. Milwaukee’s own Father Gene Jakubek (“The Answer is Love”) was another member of the talk show panel.
Mother Teresa endured several hours in an over-heated studio in Kenosha, answering every question patiently before leaving to receive her award at Marquette.
